Why WMPM
West Midlands Property Management Ltd is a key component of a group of investment, property and travel companies established for over 20 years.
The parent company, Broad Court Property Management Ltd, was founded in 1982 by Dr Henry Southworth, a Cambridge University graduate and Ph.D., and lecturer in Management Finance at Birmingham University. Its remit was initially to manage investment funds in the then-emergent area of futures and derivatives. For several years, on a risk-adjusted basis, Broad Court was the leading such fund manager in the world. More recently the company has been involved in letting and management within the UK residential property market. Broad Court has also managed a number of investment funds in this area, its clients having received a secure dividend return of between 15 and 25% p.a. during the past ten years, together with capital appreciation of several hundred percent.
More recently, The Away Company Ltd has been established to provide property management and travel services outside the UK, to a wide variety of clients.
Then, and in response to demand from both Broad Court’s and The Away Company’s clients for new and more profitable property investment opportunities, West Midlands Property Management Ltd was established to provide a highly professional, yet personal, service for clients of this type. Leeds University graduate in Business Studies, Tom Bishop, takes principal responsibility for managing the company's affairs.
More recently, and recognising that the UK property market is in danger of beginning to stagnate, WMPM has pioneered investment into holiday property on Spain’s Costa del Sol . This investment has ranged from individual villa properties aimed at the holiday rental market, through commercial land development, to investment, off-plan, in new holiday and residential developments in this area.
Two types of clients are catered for – those who wish to buy a property abroad for their own personal use, either as a retirement home or as a holiday let (Buying Abroad) – and those who are simply looking for the well above average investment return that buying in this area can provide (Investing Abroad). In either situation we can act as the agent of the client in negotiating every aspect of the purchase process. Existing clients range from individuals to large property investment companies with several million pound portfolios.
